The Clinton Herald Wednesday January 12, 1994 p. 9 The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday in St. John's Episcopal Church for David DeWitt Dulany, 60, of 1016 Crescent Drive, Clinton, who died Monday in Samaritan South. The Rev. Canon Arthur Becker will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Clinton Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Home. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of the Clinton Fire Department; Chief Russell Luckritz, Don Obermiller, Tom Mussmann, Ted Tholen, Grant Wilke and Greg Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Lind, Clark DePue, Larry Straley, Jim Byrns, Jim Triplett, Bob McGill, Kenny Starr, Truman Greve and Jim Golinvaux. Mr. Dulany was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Evanston, Ill., to George William and Emily Lou DeWitt Dulany III. He married Jean McDonnell Herrity, May 18, 1983, in Clinton. He was a graduate of Shattuck Military Schol in Fairbault, Minn., Iowa State Univerity in Ames, and the ABA School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He had been chairman of the board since September of 1989 and co-owner of Compliment Conversion Vans in Camanche. He was the fourth generation of Dulanys involved with Eclipse Lumber Co. in Clinton until it was sold in 1960. He had a special interest in fire and police commissions and was appointed to the Civil Service Commission in 1963 and served until 1987, and also served as chairman of the organization from 1968-69, 1974-75 and 1986-87. Since 1968, he had been director of Hawkeye Bancorporation of Iowa; he was vice president of Hawkeye Bank (First National Bank) from 1967 to 1974. He was president of Gateway Broadcasting Corp., and owned KROS/KSAY from 1977 to 1986. He was a former owner of Clinton Beverage Company. He was a member and past president of the Clinton Country Club, and was one of the founding members of the 29 Club. He was a member of the Eagles Club and a former member of the Gyros and Elks Club. He enjoyed taking annual fishing trips to Canada with his friends. Survivors include his wife; a son, Martin of Clinton; a step-daughter, Rachelle Herrity-Lucas of Davenport; his stepmother, Cecilia Dalsemer of Santa Barbara, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Dan (Susan) McChane of New York City, N.Y.; two step-brothers, J. Patrick Dalsemer of Winter Park, Fla., and Richard Dalsemer of Carmel, Calif.; and a special nephew and niece, Alex Fiore of Overland Park, Kan., Christina Fiore of Nashville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, George William Dulany IV in 1992, and a stepbrother. Death date: Jan. 10, 1994.
