Elkader Register, Thur., 07 Jan. 1892.

Died, George Pahlas, one of the early settlers of Farmersburg township, died on Sunday last, at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 9 days. Deceased was a native of Germany, but came to this country at an early age, shortly afterwards locating in this county. He was a brother of Mr. John Pahlas, of this place. The funeral took place on Tuesday of this week, his remains being followed to their last resting place at Clayton Centre by a large number of mourning friends and relatives, who thus paid their last respects to a man who was highly esteemed while living for his many virtues.
