GOERGEN, CAUDY, KUEFLER, POLLOCK

Mrs. Margery Goergen, 87 [sic], life-long resident of McGregor passed away Sunday evening at a Prairie du Chien Hospital following a short illness.

She is survived by one son, William H. Goergen of Encino, California; one daughter, Mrs. Roy (June) Kuefler of Racine, Wisconsin; one sister, Mrs. Joe (Ruth) Pollock of Dennison, Iowa; and seven grandchildren.

Services were Wednesday, May 27, at 10:30 a.m. held at the Thornburg Funeral Home, Rev. Paxton Smith, officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Margery Goergen, prominent Mid West photographer, died at the age of 70 on May 24 at the General Hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

Burial was on Wednesday, May 27, at McGregor, Iowa.

Mrs. Goergen was a lifetime resident of McGregor, Iowa, and her photographs of Scenic North East Iowa and South West Wisconsin were published in many national and local magazines and trade journals including the Chicago Tribune and Des Moines Register. Her post-cards of points of beauty and interest were admired in many areas of the United States.

She was an ardent supporter of the McGregor area as a tourist attraction and did much to promote the area by her display of photos of this area. Her work was admired by fellow professional photographers and she will be missed by her many friends and associates of the business.
