A double wedding occurred at the home of Henry Ortman in Elk township Wednesday, the contracting parties being John Bock to Miss Martha Ortman, and Charles Lang to Miss Minnie Ortman. The ceremony was performed by Judge Stalnaker, of Littleport, in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. The brides are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ortman of Elk twp., and are beautiful and accomplished young ladies. Mr. Bock is a wagon maker and resides at Elkader and Charles Lang resides in Mederville and is the son of Henry Lang, one of the old settlers and solid farmers of Cox Creek township. Both come highly recommended as worthy of the fair brides they have won. The happy couples received a lot of beautiful and costly presents with the compliments and best wishes of hosts and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Bock will reside in Elkader and Mr. and Mrs. Lang on the farm near Mederville. The wedding feast was grand and a great good time was had by all present. May their life be a happy and prosperous one is the wish of many friends and acquaintances.

Elkader Register, Thur., 17 Jan. 1901.
