I'm looking for the name of the first husband of Mabel A. Smith, born ca 1879 (Clay Co.?) Iowa. She may have married him ca 1897. She had children: Bertrand, Pearl, Dorothy, Ruth, Jewel, Rosemary. Ca 1922 (where?) she married Peter A. Rhode, born Illinois, resident of Clay Co. Mabel's children went by the name of Rhode in the few records I can find. Again, would like the name of the first husband, presumably the father of the above children. Thank you.
