Frank, old son of Cyrus and Becca Gregg. He died of diphtheria, after an illness of only two days. His age was 10 months and 6 days.

Frankie was an unusually bright and interesting child, and his parents are naturally plunged in the deepest grief by his early death.

His death occurred on the 14th inst., and on the following day Rev. Osmond preached his funeral discourse in the church at Lacelle from the words, “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.” Job, 1st chapter and 25th verse.

Our perfect Frankie seemed so dear a gift,
We never dreamed that death would come so swift.

Along the pathway of the joyous life,
That had not learned a hint of sin nor strife.

O, the dark eyes were so pure and bright!
O the baby limbs were each so round and white!
So strong, we tho’t we surely understood
All the promise of a glorious manhood.

Even now we know, although our hearts are sore,
The promise of God was the promise he bore.
And though the wise ways of His blameless will,
God, his promise to the utmost will fulfill.

In wondrous change for this life’s doubtful issues
Giving every certain good our hearts could choose;
Strength, no sickness or sorrow could spoil!
Whiteness of soul no sin can ever soil.

So when we meet on the Shining Shore,
The hurt and the loss will be forevermore
Forgotten by finding our beaufiful child,
Living immortal life that nothing has defiled.
