—Hiram Thayer, one of the formerly
well-known family of Thayer brothers,
noted for their patriotism and musical talent, died at his home near Nashua, on the 10th inst. He was born in Auburn, N. Y., in 1818, came here in 1857; lived in Howard county for two years, and then went to Bradford, Chickasaw county. He was one of a family of 16, and was the father of 9 children. Geo. and Wm. Thayer of this city are nephews of his.
