Diane Lynn Hewett, daughter of Claude and Barbara (Bowen) Hewett, was born on Dec. 30, 1952, in Mason City. Diane attended schools in Mason City and graduated with the Mason City High School class of 1971.

She met the love of her life, fiance Dennis Klunder, in 1987 with whom she spent many wonderful years together before his passing in 1996.

Diane was an asset to Hobby Lobby, serving as a department manager for 15 years in Mason City before her illness made it difficult for her to work.

She was an inspiration to many and instrumental in raising her nieces and nephews, who cared for them like they were her own. Diane loved children, and they loved her. More than anything, she treasured spending time with her family and friends.

She enjoyed attending stock car races on summer Sunday nights and cooking the family Sunday dinners throughout the cool months. She was an excellent baker and chef and also enjoyed crafts, reading, and crocheting in her free time.

Diane’s memory will be cherished by her siblings, Roberta (William) Eno of Sheffield, Rose (Wayne) Booker of Illinois, Peggy (Glenn) Willier of Mason City, Mona Sutton of Plymouth, and Victor (Nancy) Hewett of Mason City; nephews, Saron (Karen) Sutton and Joe Willier and his children, Lexi and Karson; and her niece, Crystal (Craig Warner) Willier her daughter, Sadie Latham. She is also survived by Dennis’ sons, Casey (Britniey) Klunder and Matt (Kerry) Klunder; Dennis’ parents, Royce and Dorothy Hippen and Dennis’ sister, Dawn (Gene) Beller along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her remembrance will also be cherished by her co-workers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; fiance, Dennis; paternal and maternal grandparents; brothers, Robert, Richard and Ronald Hewett; niece, Susan Boehlje; sister, Judy Peterson; her brothers-in-law, Richard and Ernest Boehlje, and Dennis’ sister Deann Lutcavish.
