Gregory W. 'Greg' Hawley, 30, of Clear Lake, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 7, 1997, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason City, Iowa.

Memorial services were held Monday, May 12 at the United Methodist Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church, Clear Lake, or the American Heart Association in his memory.

Gregory W. Hawley was born July 4, 1966, in Quincy, Ill., the son of Robert W. and Alice (Vanderwal) Hawley.

The family lived in various cities throughout the United States while he was growing up.

Greg graduated from high school in Germantown, Tenn.

He then graduated from Columbia School of Broadcasting in Memphis, Tenn.

He worked for Radio Shack at Plaza West, Mason City, for two years and for the past three and one-half years, he worked for KLSS/KRIB Radio Station. Just recently he also went to work for New Horizons Electronics out of Austin, Minn.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Clear Lake; current president of the North Iowa Amateur Radio Club, and a member of the Clear Lake Christian Singles Group.

He is survived by his parents, Robert W. and Alice Hawley, Clear Lake; a brother, Doug Hawley and his wife, Jody, Des Moines, Iowa; a nephew, Joshua Hawley, Des Moines; his paternal grandmother, Louise Hawley of Mason City; and his maternal grandmother, Gertrude Vanderwal of Pella, Iowa; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather; his maternal grandfather; two uncles, Chuck Glaman and David Hawley; one aunt, Julie Hawley; and a cousin, Chris.
