Shirley loved to fish, taking many trips to Voyager National Park with Jiggs. The couple wintered in Arizona, where Shirley enjoyed golfing. She also liked to play card games, scrabble and drive her Ruby Red Cadillac around Clear Lake.

She was known for her quick wit and her sense of humor; she lit up any room she walked into. Shirley was a member of Epiphany Parish-St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Pilot Club, and was often doing volunteer work.

The family appreciates the wonderful care Shirley received from the employees, her friends, at the Good Shepherd Health Center.

Those left to cherish her memory are her nieces and nephew, Cynthia (Jon) Burger, Cedar Rapids, Paula (David) Sweat, Orlando, FL, and David (Jane) Easton, Cedar Falls; a sister-in-law, Jeannine Easton, Mason City; many great nieces and nephews, and her extended Cahalan Family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Ambrose "Jiggs" Cahalan, her parents, Leonard and Anne (Berner) Locke Easton, and her siblings, Lois (Paul) Fey, Jack Easton, and William (Marge) Locke Easton.
