Funeral services for Alvin L. Kroeger, 55, will be held at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport, at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 10, with burial in the Durant cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Mr. Kroeger died at his home in Tipton May 8. His body was found in the garage at approximately 2:40 p.m. He took his life by hanging, according to the Cedar county coroner.

He was born near Plain View in Scott county March 14, 1929. He was married to Darlene Schroeder in Bennett Sept. 23, 1950. He was employed as a maintenance man by the Iowa Department of Transportation.

A veteran of the Korean conflict, he was a member of Post 2537 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Cindy, at home; 2 sisters, Mrs. Chris (Irene) Schult, Durant and Mrs. Elmer (Henrietta) Wenndt, Wheatland and 3 brothers, Henry, Tipton, Leroy, Stockton and Raymond, Bennett.
