Susie M. Schonborn, daughter of Ephriam and Huldah Beers was born Sept. 14th, 1879, at Beerstown, New York. She was the eighth child in a family of ten children.

In 1899 she was married to Joseph Schonborn and became the mother of six children, John, who died in infancy, Huldah, Herman, Elizabeth and twin boys.

On the 5th of April, 1916, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City she entered into rest leaving a husband and five children, her mother, four brothers and sisters to mourn the loss of one, who in each relation of life, was an example of unselfishness and devotion. Mrs. Schonborn was a faithful member of the Centerdale Congregational Church, and funeral services were held on the afternoon of April 8th, in that church, conducted by Rev. John Frederick, a former pastor. Burial in West Branch cemetery. The funeral sermon was a beautiful tribute from the text "She is not Dead". Her cheer and courage will live on in her children and will influence each life with which she came in contact. Her faith and love will inspire her family and her many friends to higher thinking and better living. Her loyalty and devotion still call us to higher ideals of wifehood, motherhood and friendship.
