Tallak Carlson, son of Carl A. and Anna Roseland, was born in Norway, Jan. 12, 1859, and died Jan. 8th, 1914. He came to America in 1885 and until 1906 worked in Chicago as a painter. He then moved to Gilman, Iowa, where he lived about two years, then came to Cedar county, Iowa, where he has since resided. On March 5th, 1909, he was married to Bertha Sanders of Chicago. Previous to this he had buried two wives. One son, Carl, by his first wife, lives in Chicago.
The family of which Mr. Carlson was a member was a large one, but only three survive, Mrs. Anna Test of West Branch, Sarah Tow of Montour, Iowa and Samuel Roseland of Gilman, Iowa.
