Mrs. Henry Gregg, 79, died at 10 o'clock Sunday night at her home west of West Liberty. She had been seriously ill the last two weeks. Mrs. Gregg was the last of a family of 11 children.

Miss Rachel Gates was born December 19, 1854, in Ohio and when 12 years old moved with her parents to a farm west of West Liberty where she passed her early childhood. Following her marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Gregg lived on a farm east of Downey and later on a farm near West Branch. Following many years residence in West Branch, they moved to the farm west of West Liberty.

Surviving are her husband, two sons Albert and Earl of West Branch, one daughter, Mrs. Leone Werling of Tipton and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Snider chapel at West Liberty. Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery.

Rachel Gates, daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Gates, was born at Rose Hill, Dark county, Ohio, December 19, 1854, and passed away at her home near West Liberty, Iowa, on April 8, 1934, at the age of seventy-nine years, three months and twenty days, the last of a family of eleven children.

She came to Iowa with her parents in the early days, and settled on a farm near West Liberty. Her father was a circuit minister at that time

She was united in marriage to Henry B. Gregg on Feb. 15, 1886. To this union were born three children. One daughter, Mrs. Leone Werling of Tipton, Iowa, two sons, Albert of West Liberty and Earl of West Branch, Iowa.

Mr. and Mrs. Gregg spent most of their married life in and near West Branch.

Mrs. Gregg was a great lover of flowers, which added cheer and comfort to her home, and as a neighbor and friend she will be greatly missed.

Besides her husband and children, she leaves to mourn her loss, six grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at Snider's funeral home in West Liberty, at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, April 11, 1934.

Interment in Oak Ridge cemetery, West Liberty, Iowa.
