E. H. Thomas received word of the death of his brother-in-law, William H. Gruwell, which occurred at his home at Pasadena, Calif., at 8:30 o'clock Thursday evening, Feb. 15, after an illness of less than two days. Mr. Gruwell owned a store in Pasadena, and became ill while at his business Wednesday. He phoned his wife and was taken home, death occurring the next evening. Funeral services were held Saturday.

Mr. Gruwell was a long time resident of West Branch. His wife was formerly Miss Clara Thomas, and their three children were born here. The family moved from here to Pasadena about twenty-seven years ago. Mrs. Gruwell and three children, Mrs. Lucille Schonborn, Ivan and Roland Gruwell, survive, all residents of Pasadena.
