Elmer Madsen, 65, died Nov. 28 in Des Moines after a lingering illness.

His parents were Christian and Johanna Carstensen Madsen. He was born July 29, 1900 in Cedar county. He had lived in Des Moines for 25 years and before that in Springdale.

He married Violet Conklin Oct. 23, 1937. He was of Methodist faith, a member of the Moose lodge and was employed by the Des Moines and Central Iowa Railroad.

He is survived by his wife and a sister, Mrs. L. H. Maxson of West Liberty. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Services were Dec. 2 at West Liberty. Interment was in Oakridge cemetery.
