YuVonne J. Buckman, 90, of Hazleton, Iowa, died Saturday morning, June 24, 2017 at Unity Point – St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Floral Hills Funeral Home, rural Oelwein with Pastor Duane Olsen officiating.
Visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 9:30 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein.

Memorials may be directed in her name to the family.

YuVonne Jane Tempus was born May 31, 1927 at Independence, Iowa the daughter of Peter Frederick and Gertrude Irene (Maas) Tempus. During high school, YuVonne shined shoes at Pete’s Shoe Repair. In 1945, she graduated from Oelwein High School. On October 23, 1948, she was united in marriage to James Henry Buckman at Oelwein. Over the years, YuVonne was employed at Joe Ball Livestock, BP Feeds, Nutrina, Farm Service, Independence Library, NRCS Independence and as a receptionist at Fontana Nature Center. She was a 4H- Leader and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hazleton, Hazleton American Legion Auxiliary, Hazleton Order of the Eastern Star and Oelwein Order of the Easter Star Chapter 45. YuVonne enjoyed nature, fishing, birds, crocheting and reading.

YuVonne is survived by her 3 daughters: Vickie Buckman (Howard Durham) of Hazleton, Eileen (Gene) Buhr of Winthrop and Mary (Dale) Rueber of Westgate; 6 grandchildren: RaeAnn Barnhart (Jarod Gordon) of Cedar Rapids, Denise Gravedoni of Rowley, Brad Buhr of Winthrop, Darin Rueber of Westgate, Ariel Buhr of Winthrop and Austin Buhr of Winthrop; 5 great grandchildren: Sam Barnhart and Sydney Barnhart of Cedar Rapids, Kaylana Buhr of Rowley and Jordan and Tenley Gordon of Center Point; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: James on October 30, 2002; and a sister: Leah Johnston.
