INDEPENDENCE – David C. McGinley, 72, of Independence, Iowa died Saturday morning, April 16, 2016 at the Grundy County Hospital in Grundy Center, Iowa.

Dave was born on Jan. 13, 1944 in Independence, Iowa the son of Ted and Iva (Rose) McGinley. He attended the Independence Community Schools and in 1964 began working for Quaker Oats Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, working there for 36 years prior to his retirement in 2000.

Dave enjoyed being with his friends playing pool and automobile racing.

He is survived by a couple of cousins, and a good friend Sean Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, where friends may call from 11 a.m. till services Tuesday. Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery, Independence.
