JESUP - Arlita Jane Orth, 73 years old of rural Jesup, IA, died Saturday, February 17, 2007, at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born March 28, 1933, in Cheyenne County, NE, the daughter of Paul Ingwerson and Hazel (Wood) Ingwerson. She attended the rural elementary schools in Cheyenne County and then graduated from the Sidney, NE, High School with the class of 1950. In 1952, she received a teaching certificate from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and then taught in rural schools and Junior High at Lorenzo, NB. In 1957, she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA, and then taught school in Waterloo and Gilbertville, before teaching 30 years at the elementary level at Jesup Community School in Jesup, IA. Mrs. Orth retired from teaching in 1998. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, rural LaPorte City, IA, the Rural Study Club and the Iowa State Education Assoc.

Mrs. Orth is survived by her husband, Orville of Jesup, IA, 2 daughters, Marcie Orth of Waterloo, IA, Angie Orth of Jesup, IA, and 1 son and daughter in law, Lenard and Stephanie Orth, of Jesup, IA, 2 grandchildren, Steven Orth and Kristin Orth, 1 sister, Joyce (B. Henry) Jessen of Sidney, NE, and a sister in law, Leota Urbani of Foster, CA.

Her parents, 1 brother, Dr. Dale Ingwerson, a nephew, Steven Jessen and a niece, Kathy Karkosh, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. � Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at Zion Lutheran Church, rural LaPorte City, IA with Rev. Ernest Elzey officiating. Renee Jesse was the organist. Honorary

Casket Bearers were Mike Ingwerson, Eldon Rowlett and Mike Mardis. Casket Bearers were Steve Hopkins, Kenton Zelle, Wayne Schildmeier, Steve Wirtz, Steven Orth and Randy Frush.

Burial was at Zion Lutheran Jubilee Cemetery, rural LaPorte City, IA. Memorials will be directed to Zion Lutheran Church.
