Edna Dorothy Bellmer was born on January 20, 1920, the daughter of Rudolph and Anna (Fink) Heth, in Fairbank, Iowa. She attended schools in the Fairbank area.  On January 23, 1943, Edna was united in marriage to Ivan Bellmer at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Parsonage in Waterloo. 

She took care of her children and worked in the bakery for Waterloo schools.  Edna was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.  She was also an avid Iowa Hawkeye and St. Louis Cardinal fan.  Edna died at the age of 97 on Friday, November 24, 2017, at NorthCrest Specialty Care in Waterloo. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers; three sisters; and a grandson, Steven Douglas Logan. 

Edna is survived by two sons, Douglas (Ruth) Bellmer of Cedar Falls and Steven (Susan) Bellmer of Waterloo; four daughters, Diane (Maurice) Shields of Fairbank, Daira Bellmer of Waterloo, Susan (Thomas) Logan of Waterloo, and Sonya Bellmer of Waterloo; two sisters, Doris Schmidt of Waterloo and Marilyn Weisert of Bloomington, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
