CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Dorothy May Woodward, 70, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the Avera McKenna Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

She was born November 6, 1947, in San Diego, California, the daughter of Gilbert and Kathryn Currie Woodward.

She graduated from Crawford High School, San Diego, in 1966 and the San Diego School of Cosmetology and worked as a beautician. She then worked in laundry at the Radisson Hotel in Lexington, KY and then worked in housekeeping at Friendship Village-Lakeview Lodge in Waterloo.

She is survived by her sister, Rev. Elizabeth “Liz” Woodward, of Cedar Falls; brother, Delmer (Audrey) Wilson of Moreno Valley, CA; sister-in-law, Maxine Wilson of Port Charlotte, FL; eight loving nieces and nephews: Cheri, Joy (Mick), Julie, Jill, Dianne (Jerry), Jeff (Sherrill), Dan (Cathy), and Janette (John); eighteen great-nieces and nephews; and fifteen great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Donald Wilson; a niece Angela and a nephew, Mark.

Services: Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at First Christian Church, with interment in the Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.

Dorothy was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Cedar Falls and a joyful participant of the Chancel Choir, Body and Soul and Lydia Circle.
