Obituary for Bruce Paul Radue

Bruce Paul Radue, 71, of Waterloo, passed away Friday, November 10, 1017, in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Bruce was born October 3, 1946, in Belleville, Illinois, the son of Paul and Violet Hess Radue. He married Mary Ann Hoke on December 28, 1968 in Everett, Washington.

Bruce graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from Seattle University and attended graduate school at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. Over his 48 year career he was employed as the City Engineer for the City of Waterloo from 1974-1978, Schenk Engineering, and VJ Engineering until his January 2017 retirement.

He served on the Waterloo Planning and Zoning Commission, Independent Order of Foresters and a Hall of Fame member of the Home Builders of Northeast Iowa. He was a member of Iowa Engineering Society, the Waterloo Elks Club, and a lifetime member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann of Waterloo; three children Anne (Buddy) Stephens of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Kyle (Dawn) Radue of Long Beach, California, and Lance (Melissa) Radue of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren Brayden and Whitney Radue and Amanda Stephens; his siblings Gayle (Terry) Brennan of Meridian, Idaho and Wayne (Amy) Radue of Boise, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dianne Brown.

Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 18, at Queen of Peace Church. Public visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, November 17, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street. Visitation will also be one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
