THOMAS W. OSBORN DIES
NODAWAY August 12, People of this vicinity are mourning the loss of a highly respected citizen in the death of Thomas W. Osborn, who passed away at his home here at four o’clock this afternoon after a week’s serious illness with complications of diseases. Mr. Osborn was seventy-two years and five months of age. He was born in Morgan County, Ohio, March 15, 1842 and was married to Miss Martha Ratcliff at McConnelsville, Ohio, October 4, 1866. To this union six children were born, two sons and four daughters, all of whom are living. They are W. W. Osborn of Creston, Ben Osborn of Villisca, Mrs. A. W. Hawk of Omaha, and Misses Iva Blanche and Leona Osborne who reside at home. Deceased served four ears and eleven days in the Civil War and in 1868, the family moved to Bedford, Iowa, where they lived until 1881, when they came to Nodaway and have since resided here. With his wife, who survives him, Mr. Osborn joined the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1878 and they have lived faithful Christian lives. Deceased was the kind of a man who made the world better by having lived in it and his innumerable friends extend their sincere sympathy to the mourning relatives.
The funeral services will be held from the Nodaway M. E. Church Friday afternoon of this week at two o’clock and burial will be made in the Nodaway Cemetery.
