Last rites were Thursday, July 28, at 2 p.m. at the Sutphen Funeral Home for Mrs. Mary F. Osborn, 79, who died July 26, at a nursing home in Omaha, where she was taken following an accident in which she fell and broke her hip.
The funeral sermon was by Rev. Alvin D. Sigafus and the singing was by Mrs. Icle Fisher, accompanied by Mrs. Mabel Dunn.
Pall bearers were Harold Peters, Harold Sidwell, Lee Means, M. Travis, Malcolm Poston, and Earl Marsh and interment was in the Nodaway Cemetery beside Mrs. Osborn’s husband, Ben Osborn, who died April 3, 1926. Sutphen Funeral Home in charge.
mrs. Mary Simpson Osborn, daughter of Mary and Silas Simpson was born at Clarence, Iowa, September 4, 1875. She was united in marriage to Ben Osborn at Brooks, Iowa on October 20, 1897 and to this union were born three children, Ned of Stuart, Iowa, Harold, Omaha, and Gladys Osborn Moore, who died April 7, 1929.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, Donald of Muscatine, Iowa, Richard, Chicago, Robert, Omaha, Mrs. Mary Moore Lessandrello, Long Island, New York, and Mrs. Jean Moore Pritchard, Pacific Grove, California.
There are also eight great grandchildren, Paige, Poly, and Reuben Pritchard; Larry, David, and Randy Osborn, Emily and Stephen Lessandrello.
Mrs. Osborn was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Villisca.
