I am searching for any information on the birth and parentage of Joseph George Cloven. His death certificate lists his date of birth as 22 April 1850, in Iowa. No county is given. The names of his mother and father are listed as "unknown" on the death certificate. He may have been an orphan. I have located census records for him that list the state of birth as either Iowa or Illinois. His parents place of birth is usually listed as New York on the censuses. His parents may have been Irish and came over during the famine in the 1840s and 50s. Any help would be appreciated.
