Exira Cubs Win From
Adair Independent 14-0

--------

The local football team won an easy
victory from the Adair eleven Sunday
at Adair, the score being 14 to 0.
C. Wells and F. Wells made the
counters, Mark Kline adding two
points when he kicked goal after each
touchdown.

The Exira line was battered hard
by Adair and Rendleman, Basham and
M. Bintner were injured during the
game. Rendleman received a dislo-
cated shoulder, Basham a slight
shoulder injury and Bintner was badly
inured about his right eye.

The local team will meet the Panora
Independents here on Sunday, the
game being called at 2:30. This will
be a hard game and the locals will
be somewhat handicapped through the
loss of M. Bintner, Rendleman and
Corl in the line.

Note: I believe these were town teams, not the high school team, although some of the players also played on the HS team. I believe the persons listed in the article are Claud G. Wells and his brother, Frank James Wells, Mark Follingsbee Kline, either Joe or Jim Basham, Raymond Dodge "Hob" Rendleman, Matthew Shompier "Matt" Bintner and Clarence Corl, who was also the quarterback for the Exira HS team.
