NEWTON, HEIDY Searching for marriage information on the marriage of Jane HEIDY and Edward NEWTON, probably Lutheran or Methodist, in Benton County ca 1865-66. He later stated that they were married "Ap 20, 1864 by W. B. HASELTINE." Believe that to have been a year or two later. Any info would be appreciated.

My MORTVEDT ancestors spent about 2 1/2 years (1867-1869) in Norway before continuing west to the Dakota Territory. Is there any information about how immigrants might have spent that time in Benton County? And, might there be records of their being there during that time period? Since this was between normal census enumerations I understand that my request has little chance of success, however all the family notes have said nothing about that time period beyond the birth of one son, Jacob Jacobson MORTVEDT on 5/5/1868 in Benton County.

I'm looking for any information on Francis "Frank" SANDERS. He was born in 1788 in Pittsylvania, VA. Served in the revolutionary war, and may have participated in the Civil War. He moved to Benton County Iowa, after a short time in Indiana. He appeared in the 1860 census, but not the 1870 census. I would like information on burial, date etc. He was married to Stacey (Stacy) MAYES (MAY), had a son William Ira Sanders, married to Elesta Butcher. Their son was Charles C SANDERS married Delia MYERS. Their son Claude Stanley SANDERS married twice, his second marriage with Fanny Alice NABHOLTZ son was my Father Lloyd David SANDERS, born in Shellsburg. Any information on burial, death etc would be greatly appreciated. Daryl Sanders 803-727-8320
