Sgt. Charles L. Dunham Jr.

Sgt. Charles L. Dunham, Jr., arrived home Tuesday to spend six days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dunham, Sr., and family, northwest of Akron, and other relatives and friends. He is stationed at Moses Lake, Wash., with the 63rd Airdrome Squadron.

Charles Lee Dunham, Jr. was born Jan. 1, 1921 to Charles Lee (Sr.) and Lena Marcella Gattermeier Dunham. He died Sept. 6, 1944 and is buried in Olean Cemetery, Olean, MO. 

He died when his plane was shot down by enemy anti-aircraft fire near Diest, Belgium. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
