I'm researching for information on my ggreat-aunt Eunice MARBLE who was married to David HITT. David HITT was born in Madison Township in Ohio. He & Eunice MARBLE were married in 1847. They later migrated to Taylor County, Iowa.
Any information that you could provide on either David HITT or wife Eunice MARBLE will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Her mother Agnes Witt was married to Frank Daugherty 20 FEb 1908 in Bedford. I found that in the newspaper abstracts but there was no record of a marriage for Helen in the abstracts. Thank you for your time. Agnes Chambers

I am searching for descendants of my great grandfathers brother, Perry (C/Frederick) Green.  He was first married in Henry County, ILL to Annette E Briggs in 1866.  A child Frank was born to them in 1867 in Knox County, IL.  In the 1870 census, Perry and Annette and Frank are living in Mason Township, Taylor County, IA.  Here is where we loose the family.  We do have that son Frank married Mabel Turner in 1896 and lived in or near Taylor County, IA.  What happened to Annette?

On the 1908 Civil War Pension papers for my great grandfather, Caleb Green, a witness is listed, named P. C. Green, living in Wichita, Ks.  We have looked him up and he is our Perry.  He has a wife Julia M, whom he married in 1878.  We don't know where.  He also has these children:  Lena, b1883 in MO.  Dollie, born 1889 in NE.  Plyna a son born in 1890 in NE and Basel Henry, born in NE in 1894.  Perry died in 1911 and the obituary lists another child, Walter, whom we know nothing about.

If you know anything about this family, we would like to have you contact us.  We figure our best contact would be Frank and Mabel's grandchildren, but anyone else will surely be welcome.  Thank you so much.

Hello!   My name is    Helen Francis Bruce.  I have found in the  Taylor Co. Census that my great grandfather lived in taylor
county in the late 1800s.  His  name was Marcellus Francis and I believe  he lived in Bedford.    I was wondering  if you  could
do a look up on one of  his sons.   In the 1900 Census it listed him  as Harrison Francis.   His full   name was Frederick Harrison.
It lists his  wifes    name as Lizzie and 1  child Lester that was born in March of the same year.   We have  not been able to
find any informaation on him after this point and was wondering if there would be a birth record for Lester Francis thaat would have
Lizzies full name on it.   And if  there was any way to find out if there were  any other children born to them in Bedford.     I dont
know how much longer the family stayed in Iowa after the 1900 census.   We dont have record of Frederick  Harrisons  marriage to
Lizzie either.  We would appreciate this also.  He was listed in 1895 as 18yrs old and   still living at  home with   his parents.
Would  really appreciate  any help you can provide.  If there are records to be found  then I will send for them.  Dont want to  send
money for records  Im  not sure even exist.    Thank you for your help.   Please email me  with results even if there isnt  anything
there.    Send  results to h_francis57@hotmail.com

Hello Pat,

I've spent several hours searching through your Taylor Co. website.
Superb job!!!

I was wondering if you would know anyone willing to do Taylor Co.
research of the Harper family?  I would be happy to pay for research
time,  photographs, copies and postage for anyone willing to be my
legs and eyes.  Here's my family information:

I received the 1880 U.S. census CDs from the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter Day Saints in the mail today.  I found my husband's great
grandfather Hugh W. Harper & family was living in Taylor Co., IA in
1880.  I also found his mother, Mary Harper age 66 living with three
of her sons John 25, Calvin 23 and Thomas 20.  Also in the household
was a daughter in law Lottie, age 40 and her 6 year old daughter
Hattie.  Hugh had two more brothers Harvey P., Calvin and Pleasant,
but I haven't found them in the census.

It appears from your website that Mary's husband James died maybe in
May of 1880 of diabetes (could this have been from the mortality
schedule?)

I'm interested in finding any information I can regarding the Harper
family-birth, death, marriage, burial, etc.

Please let me know if you know of anyone.  There certainly are a lot
of Harpers in Taylor Co., hopefully we're related to a bunch of them.

Thanks so much,

Re: Marriage Records Lookup (per IAGenWeb Project) FREMONT County:

Hello Pat,

I feel so thankful to be able to ask you for a lookup.

I am looking for the marriage information for my gg-aunt, Mary Elizabeth Cleghorn to Albert Willis on 20 May 1884 in Shenandoah, Fremont Co., Iowa.  This information came from Mary's obituary and I can only hope it is accurate.  I am specifically hoping to find the maiden name of her mother.  I think Mary was probably living with her sister, Eliza Cleghorn Wolford (Mrs. Afred Wolford), in Shenandoah.  Both girls were born in NY and I believe they moved from Indiana to Iowa.

If you are able to find any information, I would really appreciate it if you would send me a photocopy(s).  I would immediately send you reimbursement by return mail.  I will greatly appreciate your time and effort on my behalf.

Hopefully,

Hello Pat:  I got your e-mail address off the Fremont County research page,
it said that you might do lookups-or help people.  My great grandfather was
John W. Collins and was born in Fremont County, Bartlett Iowa.  He had 3
brothers all born there. They were Charles T., Arthur Leroy, and Mack.  They
also had a sister who was born and died there as an infant-her name was
Maggie Collins.  John W. Collins was the youngest of the brothers being born
9/21/1889 d. 2/15/1963 in Bristow,OK. Maggie May Collins b. 3/12/1880 and d.
9/24/1880, Mack Moore Collins 5/14/1881, Charles b. 11/12/1883 and Arthur
5/8/1885.  Their mother Anna Lee McClelland Collins died shortly after John
W. was born. Died 8/13/1890. This is the date I received from family.  I
would like to know if you have any records of the death of Maggie May or
Anna Lee McClelland Collins.  I do not have a place of death for her,
however, John was born in Bartlett Iowa so I assumed that she died there.  I
was wondering were she and her daughter were buried and if it was possible
that I could get a death record, and if so, where would I send for it.  Anna
was born 8/2/1855-and I do not as yet know where.  Thank you for any help
you can give me with this.

Hi.  Looking for the sibs or parents of the above.  We know he lived in
Fremont Co. for sure in 1894 when my grandfather was born there.  They were
farmers.  I am afraid that is all I know about them.  Just any Johnsons you
find listed would give me a starting point.  Thanks.  We think they may have
been Swedish Lutheran too.   Sure do appreciate you!  Rita Boyd

Hi.  The above's wife was Clara Charlotte Anderson.  This couple raised some
of their children in Fremont Co.  We know they were there in 1894 when my
grandfather was born, Leonard A..  Possibly his sister Mable was also born
there in 1897.  There were 5 ch. before them: Elmer, Frank, Bert, Emmett, and
Wm., b. in 1893.  Hope to learn who their parents were, if they were buried
there, just ANYTHING you can dig up.  Thanks.  Rita Boyd

Hi Pat!  I'm looking for the graves of Nancy Jane Slusher and Eli Slusher in
the Hamburg area.  I've checked the 1983 Fremont Co., Iowa Cemetery Records
book and they are NOT listed.  Yet, Nancy's obituary from the Omaha World
Herald (December 15, 1929) states: " Remains will be taken to Hamburg, Ia.,
via auto for burial."  Is it possible that there's just no stones at the
cemetery?  Do you know of a record that I could check?  I'm planning a trip
to the Fremont Co. Courthouse soon, I just don't know where to look. Thanks
for your help!
