Swimming Beach Officially Open To Public June 24
Smith Is Lifeguard; Eddy Will Give Free Swimming Instruction

The day that many children and adults have been waiting for will soon be here. The Mount Ayr swimming beach, known as the old city reservoir, will be officially opened to bathers on Wednesday, June 24th.

From 2:30 until 7:30 each day the lifeguard, Clinton SMITH, and swimming instructor, Miss Mary Jane EDDY, will be on duty. Anyone swimming at the beach before it is officially opened is doing so at his own risk.

At the present time the lifeguard is attending a Red Cross aquatic school, at Red Oak, and the swimming instructor, a Red Cross aquatic school, at Bloomington, Ill.

The summer's program will include free swimming instruction for any person residing in Ringgold county. Registration will be held Monday and Tuesday, June 22 and 23, so please register at this time if you are interested, as Wednesday will be too late.

The activities of the beach are under the direction of the Mount Ayr Park Board, members of which are Eldon MAIN, Alvin VARNER, and Mrs. George IRVING.
