Family &Biographical Pages

JOYCE &DICK WEEHLER

Richard WEEHLER, son of Lee and Norma WEEHLER of Benton, and Joyce LYNCH, daughter of Cleo and Regina LYNCH of Maloy, were married September 12, 1964 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Maloy.

Joyce attended Maloy Consolidated School through the eighth grade and has the distinction of being the last person to graduate from Maloy Consolidated School, as the following year the school became a part of the Mount Ayr Community School District. She graduated from Mount Ayr Community High School in 1962 and then attended Northwest Missouri State College for three years.

Dick attended Maloy school for two years then attended at Clearfield through the eighth grade. He also graduated from Mount Ayr Community High School in 1962.

In 1969, Dick and Joyce bought a farm northwest of Maloy from Wilber LYNCH, Joyce's grandfather. They live there today [1987] with their three children: Becky, a 19-year-old sophomore at Iowa State University majoring in child development and early childhood education; Randy, a 17-year-old junior at Mount Ayr Community School; and Neil, a 16-year-old Mount Ayr Community High sophomore.
