Query:
I am trying to find my great uncle that was put into the Clarinda asylum back in March 1946.
We were told he went on a picnic on the yard of the asylum on July 11 1960 and he never returned.
We have searched for him for years by his social security number and all info we have, but with no luck.
He was married with 2 adopted daughters, then his wife Opel Jansen filed for divorce Sept 1945. Opal was in the Des Moines area.
His name is James Franklin Barnett and DOB is Sept 5 1907. James father was Ferdinand Barnett. I am told Ferdinand changed his name to Charles White, but this is not confirmed. I will see what other info I can find about Ferdinand, but he lived in the Des Moines Iowa Bloomfield township Polk County area at one time.
His hospital # 18177.

| Willis and Polly are my great great grandparents. I follow them to Page County from Missouri in the 1850 Census. Willis is a farmer with 3 children, Polly (Bailey) Philips is listed at that time. By 1860 she is no longer listed and there are 5 children, David being the youngest. Susannah is my great grandmother and she marries Garmore Black in Page County on Sept. 15, 1864. Then W. Jefferson and Polly disappear. Have they died? Moved on? That’s what I am looking for. Burial, Civil War. Just something to know what happened to them.
