Obituary Index of Pella Newspapers

If you came here from the otherRecords » obituaries page, one item on that page was a link to page that displays newspapers scanned from Pella's archives of their papers: pella.advantage-preservation.com. This lists newspaper issues (many in English and some in Dutch) from 1855 to 2020.

Over the years, various people have helped build an index of obituaries from various years of papers from this pella.advantage-preservation site above. Some of the people just volunteered to help, some were part of Central College service day events, and so on. They made their contributions using the personal website of the Marion County coordinator, but that option is no longer available.

There are, currently, three versions of the index to view. See below. As of 2026-05-08, they each have 3085 entries; however, the first is likely to be growing soon.

This version is going to be updated in the near future. Right now, this is sorted by year of death, but future versions will be sorted by last name also. However, both can be searched, so that you can find any last name of interest.
