DESCENDANCY NARRATIVE of the Walters Family from James, Nathaniel and John of Bristol, MA and Herkimer Co., NY, in the mid 18th century, through their descendants in California in the early 20th century. The file has many notes containing family information.
The M. B. Walters home was the scene of a festivity last Tuesday.
March 10th (1825) when their friends and relatives gathered to celebrate
the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Walters. March 10, 1875,
at the bride's home, Myron Bartlett Walters and Mary Emmarilus Tippet
were united in marriage. Mrs. Walters was born in Ohio, moving to Jones
county, Iowa, when she was two years old. Mr. Walters ia a native of
Jones county. Both are well-known in this community. Dinner was served
to twenty-six, including Mrs. Lizzie Orr, Mrs. Bell Howard and James
Carpenter, who were guests at the wedding fifty years ago. In the
afternoon they held an open house to friends. The out-of-town guests
were their five children, Mrs. Sybil Smith, of Washington, D.C.; Mrs.
Adah Henningsen, of Dike, Ia.; Mr. Purl Walters and family of Waterloo,
Iowa; Mr. W. N. Walters and family, of Audubon, Iowa; Mr. R. C. Walters
and family, of Anamosa, Iowa; Mrs. H. E. Smith of Washington, D.C., was
also present.

Tuesday, June 22, 1915, at high noon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M.
B. Walters, in Onslow, occurred the marriage of their daughter, Adah, to
Mr. P. J. Henningsen, of Dike, Iowa.
Miss Sybal Walters, sister
of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and Evelyn and Vivian Walters, nieces
of the bride were flower girls.
Mr. H. C. Henningsen attended his
brother as best man. Rev. Earl Benlow, of Onslow, solemnized the
marriage vows.
Prior to the ceremony, Miss Mildred Lamey sang
"Oh! Promise me," and Miss Bessie Rowe played the wedding march. After
the ceremony all guests gathered in the dinning room where a bounteous
three course dinner was served by four friends of the bride.
Many
beautiful and useful pesents were received. the bride wore a gown of
Chiffon taffeta trimed in Chiffon and Baby Irish lace. Her traveling
suit was a Belgian blue Garberdine. the groom wore the usual blue serge.
The out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Walters and family
of Westside, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Walters and children of Cedar
Falls and Mrs. H. C. Struntze of Dike, Iowa.
Mr. and Mrs. P. J.
Henningsen returned to Dike Saturday morning, where they will make their
home with the grooms parents until August 1st, when they will go to
housekeeping in the flat above the store.
The groom is a pupular
young man of excellent qualities. He has conducted the Henninden store
for years and his honesty, business ability and courtesy was won him
innumerable friends. The bride is well known here having been sales lady
at Kelsen's store for a long time and was also employed in a store at
Grundy Center for a time.

heartiest congratulations to this estimable couple.
