Boy's Bowling Seasons - School Directory - Schools by State Appearances - Team Champions - Individual Champions History of Iowa High School Boy's Bowling With IHSAA championship play beginning in 2010, Boy's bowling is the most recent sport to gain IHSAA designation for their champion. However, championship play has a much longer history, as high school bowling championships for club teams were staged from 1970 to 2009 by the Iowa Bowling Proprietor's Association (IBPA). Since the time it has been an IHSAA sport, there have been both team and individual champions crowned in bowling, with team scoring based on the combined scores of six players, then ranked in comparison to other teams competing in the tournament. The sport has seen solid growth since the 2009-10 season, and teams were split into three classes beginning in 2014-15, following a two class designation system that went all the way back to the 1976 IBPA tournament. 2020 2019 |
