Membership Timeline
1971-72: All remaining members of the Southwest Iowa Conference (Griswold, Missouri Valley, Oakland, and AvoHa) disband the conference and join with the eight members of the Tri-County Conference to form the Western Iowa Conference.
1970-71: Lewis Central leaves for the Hawkeye 10 Conference. Membership decreases to 4.
1968-69: Lewis Central and Missouri Valley join. AnitaOrient-MacksburgBridgewater-FontanelleAdair-Casey, and C and M leave to help form the Little Eight Conference. Membership decreases to 5.
1962-63: Orient-Macksburg joins. Elliott and Carson-Macedonia leave. Membership decreases to 8.
1960-61: Walnut leaves for the Tri-County Conference. Bridgewater-FontanelleC and M , Adair-Casey, and Carson-Macedonia join. Membership increases to 9.
1957-58: Avoca consolidates with Hancock to form AvoHa. The new school remains in the conference
1946-47: GriswoldOakland, AvocaWalnutElliott, and Anita re-establish the Southwest Iowa Conference, after the conference had been disbanded for WWII. Membership is 6.
