1992-93: Fort Dodge and Mason City leave for the Central Iowa Metro LeagueCedar FallsWaterloo East, and Waterloo West leave for the Mississippi Valley Conference. The league disbands.
1991-92: Marshalltown leaves for the Central Iowa Metro League. Membership decreases to 5.
1988-89: Waterloo Central closes. Membership decrease to 6.
1983-84: Ames leaves. Membership decreases to 7.
1975-76: Newton leaves. Membership decreases to 8. Conference name is changed to the Big Eight Conference.
1973-74: Waterloo Central joins. Membership increases to 9. Conference name is changed to the Big Nine Conference.
1968-69: Marshalltown, Ames, and Newton join from the Central Iowa ConferenceDes Moines East leaves to help form the Des Moines Metro ConferenceMembership increases to 8. Conference name is changed to the Big Eight Conference.
1961-62: Cedar Falls joins from the Northeast Iowa ConferenceDes Moines North leaves. Membership remains at 6.
1947-48: Des Moines Roosevelt leaves. Membership is 6. League has been renamed Big Six Conference.
1941-42: Des Moines EastDes Moines North, and Des Moines Roosevelt join. Membership increases to 7. Conference name is changed to the Big Seven Conference. 
1934-35: Fort DodgeMason CityWaterloo East, and Waterloo West form the Big Four Conference. Membership is 4.
