William Detert

 

William Detert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Detert, who was killed in France, 1918, was laid to rest in the Shueyville cemetery, Sunday. The Military funeral was conducted by Rev. Pokorny of near Ely and the Ely firing squad sounded the last salute and taps. The deceased hero was the first Johnson county boy to answer the call of sacrifice. He is survived by his parents, two brothers, Charles and Frankie, and two sisters, Mary and Mrs. Charlie Kubik. A large number attended the funeral.
