112 NEW REGISTRANTS
That many Montgomery County Men Have Reached Age of 21 During Past Year
and Are Now Registered for Military Service Under Draft Law

MANY VOLUNTEERS THIS WEEK --ANOTHER DEAFT COMES JUNE JUNE 24

In compliance with the Universal Service law recently signed by President Wilson, 112 Montgomery county young men who reached the age of 21 years since June 5, 1917, presented themselves to the registration board at the court house, to be registered for military service under the draft law. There was only one registration board and those living in other parts of the county had to make a trip to Red Oak to register.

These men will be given serial numbers soon and another draft drawing will be made to determine the order numbers for each man. The men will be required to fill out questionnaires and they will be classified and placed at the bottom of the class in which they are placed. Most of the men registered Wednesday will be class 1 men.

The registration board sat in the exemption board offices on the third floor of the court house from 7 a.m. till 9 p.m. and telegraphic reports to the adjutant general were made as soon as the registration board closed its work. The registrars were W.W. Montgomery, O.P. Worsley, Bert Brown and W.T. Hatswell. P.L. Hayzlett, clerk of the examination board, and Dr. L.A. Thomas, Lan Fikes and Sheriff R.A. Dunn, members of the exemtion board also assisted in the work. A full list of those registered, together with their mail addresses is printed below:
