1897 Dickinson County Railroad Map

Designed by Frank H. Galbraith, a mail clerk in Chicago, the map was used internally by the Railway Mail Service to train new clerks who would then ride the rails in the mail car sorting mail between towns. At one time there were as many as 6000 mail clerks in the Railway Mail Service, one of those behind-the-scenes jobs that kept the county running. Contributed By Paul Vasold.
