Tourists going west wishing to stop at Walcott can save mileage by turning left at Probstei Hotel (4.4 M. from Farmer's Hotel), pass school houses (on right 5.6 M. and 7.8 M.), cross R. R. (8.1) to southeastern edge of Walcott, The road continuing northwest at River to River sign at top of map leads to Maysville, Dixon and New Liberty. The River to River road leading west from this point is known to old settlers at the Fulton Road; northwest to Maysville and southeast to Davenport as the Hickory Grove Road. 45
