I am also a descendant of Calvin Albert (some say Abbott) Ferguson and his wife Margaret Baldwin.

Calvin and Margaret were Baptist and lived in what appears to be Malahide or Middlesex in Elgin county, Ontario. They owned and mortgaged property there, then sold it in the 1850s and moved to Iowa. There seem to be no birth or marriage records remaining from their time in Ontario but there are some records from the Regular Baptist Church where Calvin was a witness to at least one wedding, alongside a family he had land transactions with.

I am the descendant of their child Anna Melissa Ferguson, who ultimately married William Henry Templeman and moved to Washington State.

There has been a lot of work on the family done on the genealogy website FamilySearch, including a book that mentions Calvin called "Trees That Grow In My Forest: A Genealogical Study of Edward Templeman, His Descendants, and Co-Related Families" by L. Robert and Althea Templeman, which is available to read for free in the "Book" section on FamilySearch.

Calvin's wife Margaret Baldwin's origins and parent names are currently unknown. There is 1 town called Aylmer in Ontario (near Malahide where Calvin was from), and 2 in Quebec. I also have not found any evidence (documents) that she was even from Aylmer. One person says her ancestor was Ezekiel Younglove, who got Crown land grant for being a United Empire Loyalist, but I haven't seen any evidence to prove that claim.

I came to this website hoping to find the obituaries of Margaret or Calvin as I have been unable to do so. They both died in Woodbury, Iowa.
