Mrs. Ellen S. Lawrence, 81, died Wednesday in a hospital here after a long illness. She had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Hilton, 1525 W. Fourth street.

She was born October 8, 1864, in Stravanger, Norway, but had resided here since coming to America in 1884 except two years residence in Centerville, S. D.

She was married to William W. Lawrence July 1, 1886, in Sioux City. He died in August, 1929.

Survivors include two sons, Charles A. Lawrence, Omaha, and Clifford E. Lawrence, Marianna, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Everett and Mrs. Hilton, both of Sioux City: a sister, Mrs. Christine Thompson, Los Angeles; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The Nelson Berger funeral home is directing arrangements.
