Elmer M. Martin, 45, former Sioux Cityan, died Wednesday at Pendleton, Ore., after a heart attack.

He was born February 7, 1899, at Hebron, Neb. He left Sioux City about two years ago to work as a telegraph operator for the Union Pacific railroad at Pendleton. During the 21 years he resided in Sioux City he was employed by the Western Union Telegraph Co., and by the Cudahy Packing Co. He was a member of Ben Hur lodge.

Survivors are the widow, Bernice; two daughters, Mrs. Norman Klagge of Sioux City and Mrs. Patricia Odom, Arlington, Ore.; a son, Wallace of Sioux City; his mother, Mrs. Frank Martin of Fairbury, Neb.; a sister, Mrs. Hubert Webb of Manley, Ia., and two grandsons.

The body will be brought to the Anderson funeral home here.
