Charles F. Johnson, 77, 1114 Sixth street, died Saturday at a hospital after a two-week illness.

Mr. Johnson was born April 5, 1869, at Smaland, Sweden. He came to United States and Des Moines in 1888 and in 1889 to Sioux City.

He was employed by the International Harvester Co. until 1939 when he retired. His wife, Ida S. Johnson, died in November, 1941.

Survivors are a daughter, Miss Ida Johnson, and a son, Harry, both of Sioux City; a brother, P. J. Carlson of Comfred, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Hildeen Minneapolis and Mrs. Augusta Nordgren of Mankato, Minn., and two grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Nelson-Berger funeral home.
