21 September 1946George Dewey Haislet, 47, former Sioux Cityan, an employe of the old W. H. Bastian Printing Co. died Thursday night at a Dubuque, Ia., hospital, after a long illness.
Mr. Haislet and family moved from Sioux City 15 years ago to Dubuque where he was employed as a printer by the Dubuque Telegraph-Herald. He was a member of the International Typographical union and was a veteran of World War 1.
In his youth he was prominent in semiprofessional baseball here, having played with several teams.
Survivors are the widow, Faumile; two daughters, Mrs. Darlene Phillips and Miss Joan Haislet, and a son, Robert, all of Dubuque; his mother, Mrs. Amelia Haislet of Sioux City; two brothers, Sam A. of Sioux City and Clare of Sacramento, Cal., and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Monday at Dubuque.
Relatives from Sioux City plan to attend the services.
