Death at Ossian.
Last Thursday at the family residence occurred the death of one of Ossian’s highly respected residents, Mrs. Catherine Figge, death being due to hardening of the arteries. She was in her 68th year.

Mrs. Catherine Figge died Thursday morning, death being due to paralysis. On Tuesday morning at nine o’clock at St. Francis church a solemn requiem was held, Rev. Sheur, Rev. Thiltgen and Rev. Friedmann officiating. The deceased leaves to mourn five sons and three daughters. Those from out of town present at the funeral were L. H. Figge and daughter of Waterloo, A. O. Figge and wife, Chicago, J. B. Figge and wife, and daughter and Tony Hartmann, J. W. Meyer and wife, Dubuque, Mrs. Schneeberger of Festina.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she was born Sep. 6, 1849 and died Apr. 12, 1917. She is buried in the St. Francis de Sales Cemetery.
