Benjamin Oyloe died June 22, 1920, at the Hopewell hospital in Minneapolis, death being due to influenza which set into quick consumption. He had been sick since early in April and had been at the Citizens hospital in Minneapolis three weeks while sick with the influenza, but when consumption set in, he was moved to Hopewell.
Benjamin Oyloe was twenty-five years old, and a son of Ole and Anna Oyloe of Springfield twp. He served in the late war and was in France for a year, but seemed in pretty good health when he returned. It was not until spring that his health failed him. His father was with him for several days towards the last, but had just returned home when he passed away. He was brought to Decorah and the funeral was held from the home of his parents Friday, June 25, at 1:00 p.m. and at the Springfield church at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Kvammen officiating, with burial in adjoining cemetery.
