Deputy, Carole Marlene (Hart), daughter of Pearl and Mayme (Morrow) Hart, was born March 19, 1932, in Seymour, Iowa. She passed away Sunday, February 22, 1998, in rural Seymour due to an automobile accident at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 3 days. She attended Seymour schools and graduated from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville, Missouri. She was united in married to Rex Deputy on August 17, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri. She lived most of her life in Iowa except for the time spent in Texas, returning to Seymour in 1979. She taught in several towns in Iowa. Carole started teaching in Seymour in 1980 and retired from there in 1995. She was a member of the Seymour Assembly of God Church and very active in all aspects of the church. Carole was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Rob Deputy. Survivors include her loving huband, Rex Deputy of rural Seymour; daughters: Kandace Garza and husband, John of Midland, Texas; Cynthia Pierce and husband, Daniel of Mesa, Arizona; sons: Kelly Deputy and wife, Barbara of Mulberry, Arkansas; Charles Deputy and wife, Tammy of Numa; grandchildren: Chad and Leah Deputy; Courtney and Wyatt Deputy; Connor Pierve; Lyda, Rebecca and Will Deputy; 2 brothers, Ronald Hart and wife, Gloria of Muscatine, Iowa; Jack Hart and wife, Bobby of Liberal, Kansas; 2 sisters: Ruby Fry and husband, Bob of Barton, Florida; and Feme Norris of Grinnell, Iowa; plus numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 28, 1998, from the Seymour High School Gym with Pastor Sam Reaves officiating. Shane Brown and Milton Albertson were vocalist, pianists were Naomi Reaves and Bernace Kerwin. Pallbearers were Dan Pierce, John Carza, Kelly Deputy, Chad Deputy, John Deputy and Ronald Hart. Interment was in the Jerome Cemetery. A memorial was established to the Seymour Assembly of God Church. Randolph Funeral Home in Seymour was in charge of the arrangements.
