Cherryholmes, Doran Dale, 73, of Centerville died Monday, July 27, 1998, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. He was born May 17, 1925, in Seymour, the son of Doran and Ora (Miller) Cherryholmes. He married Imogene Rollins September 29, 1945, at the First Methodist Church in Centerville. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Kahla Johnson and her husband, Gerald of Centerville; 2 sisters, Juanita Buckmaster of Homewood, Illinois, and Coretta Hildenbrand of Urbandale, Illinois, 2 granddaughters and a great granddaughter. His parents; a son, Richard Cherryholmes and 2 grandchildren preceded him in death. He received his education in a rural Wayne County school. He spent his life in Wayne County where he owned and operated a farm. He sold the farm in 1994 and moved to Centerville where he was an employee for the city of Centerville since 1995 in the parks department. Funeral services were held at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with Rev. Sam Reaves officiating. Burial was in the Southlawn Cemetery in Seymour. Memorials were given to the Seymour Assembly of God.
